Soroptimist, meaning best for women, is a global women's organization whose members volunteer to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. There are approximately 80,000 club members in 130 countries and territories that support community–based and global projects benefiting women and girls. The organization is particularly concerned with providing women and girls access to education, as this is the most effective path to self-determination. Be our guest at your first meeting of San Diego's Founding Soroptimist women's service club chartered in 1931 or find a club near you. You’ll meet and network with interesting business, professional and philanthropic women throughout our district, state, country, continent and even worldwide. Making new friends is a given. We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our tax-ID is 95-6091424.
