What We Do

We improve the lives of women and girls through Awareness, Action and Advocacy. Awareness is the necessary first step: to identify a problem or need, then to inform others in the larger community to gain as much support as possible. Awareness leads to Action to rectify the problem, which sometimes requires Advocacy, the actual changing of laws to mandate the needed change. At Soroptimist International of San Diego (SISD) we function in all three roles. However, most of SISD's activity is in our local community. In our wider Club work we reach out to other Clubs in our District, our Region (Desert Coast-DCR), our Federation (Soroptimist of the Americas-SIA), and Internationally (Soroptimist International-SI).
